Title VI
The Sangamon Mass Transit District (SMTD), in compliance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and subsequent directives, shall continue its policy of affirmative absence of discrimination among its employees, its customers and the public. SMTD will not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color or national origin, but will take affirmative action to assure fair and equal treatment of all persons directly or indirectly connected with the SMTD. Any individual who believes an unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI has occurred may file a complaint in writing to:

SMTD investigates complaints no more than 180 days following the alleged incident. To request additional information on SMTD’s Title VI program or to receive this information in another language, please contact (217) 522-6087.
A notice of compliance with Title VI is posted at the Administration Office of Sangamon Mass Transit, in all service vehicles, and posted on the SMTD website.
